Building Partners For Affordable Housing
Building Partners For Affordable Housing is a forming 501 c(3) non-profit which volunteers from COBA and the building community have formed in order to contribute to solving the affordable housing problems in Central Oregon.
Mission Statement:
The mission of Building Partners for Affordable Housing is to provide opportunities for work-force families in Central Oregon to live in safe, affordable housing.
Building Partners for Affordable Housing will endeavor to build affordable housing for qualified applicants. Qualified applicants will submit applications and be required to meet certain need-based criteria. The generally accepted definition of “affordability” is for a household to pay no more than 30% of its annual income on housing. Families that pay more than 30% of their income for housing are considered cost-burdened and may have difficulty affording necessities such as food, clothing, transportation, and medical care.
